The request follows the March 1 launch of a 16-chapter report containing tips on how AI, equipment finding out, and involved technologies ought to be utilized by the Biden administration.
Ready by the Nationwide Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence (NSCAI), the report warns that the US government “is not geared up to defend the United States in the coming AI period.”
The report urges the federal govt, such as intelligence companies, to introduce “ubiquitous AI integration in just about every phase of the intelligence cycle” by 2025. Proposed uses for AI methods comprehensive in the report include conducting surveillance, exploiting social media information and facts and biometric details, doing intelligence investigation, countering the spread of disinformation by means of the internet, and predicting cybersecurity threats.
The ACLU claims the report lifted fears that authorities organizations may possibly introduce technology that encroaches on a number of rights held by US citizens, including the rights to privacy and totally free expression.
