Amazon Web Expert services (AWS) has shut down infrastructure and accounts linked to Israeli agency NSO Group.
The news arrives after an investigation identified that the company’s Pegasus spyware was made use of to focus on at minimum 50,000 journalists, governing administration and union officers, human legal rights activists, enterprise executives, spiritual figures, teachers, NGO staff, and lawyers.
Pegasus was utilised to extract messages, pics, and emails, as properly as to history phone calls and activate microphones on iOS and Android equipment.
NSO Group denied the accusations, stating that its resources are applied “for the sole reason of conserving lives by protecting against criminal offense and terror acts”.
