Indian Police Bust Online Helicopter Scam

Cyber police in India have broken up a cyber-prison operation promoting phony helicopter tickets to pilgrims by way of fraudulent websites.

The fraud qualified pilgrims traveling to and from the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, which is in the Trikuta hills, 63km from Jammu City.

On Friday, law enforcement officers from Rajasthan Police and Jammu Police’s Cyber Cell arrested four alleged customers of the gang they consider is dependable for the deception. A single of the suspects is believed to be the gang’s chief.

The defendants, who are from Kota, Rajasthan, are accused of posing as legit operators of a helicopter assistance giving flights among Jammu Metropolis and the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

An investigation was released following law enforcement received complaints from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine board and from helicopter flight organization International Vectra that on the web fraudsters have been duping pilgrims. 

Investigators found around 40 faux web sites hosted by the system GoDaddy, promising helicopter rides to the shrine. Evaluation of the site’s IP addresses and area registration facts enabled the police to trace the suspected fraudsters to Kota. 

Three users of Jammu Police’s Cyber Cell took the proof they had gathered to Rajasthan, wherever they coordinated with community law enforcement to arrest the suspects. 

Law enforcement resources quoted by The Statesman claimed: “Jammu Cyber Law enforcement with the assistance of Rajasthan law enforcement arrested 4 persons for duping folks in the name of providing helicopter tickets to pilgrims for Mata Vaishno Devi shrine by means of fake internet websites.”

The defendants have been discovered so considerably only as Sunil Chawla, Deepak, Gajanand and Monu Pankaj. The four people today were being taken to Jammu for questioning. 

Superintendent of Jammu Police, Naresh Singh, stated that the investigation into the fraudulent fraud was led by Inspector Vikram Sharma of the Cyber Police station in Gandhi Nagar. 

Sharma said the suspects’ arrest was “a big sigh of aid to pilgrims of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, who arrived from all corners of India to Katra and received looted by buying pretend helicopter tickets.”
