Kaspersky Hits Back at “Politically Motivated” BSI Advisory

Russian AV firm Kaspersky has hit again at the German authorities soon after they recommended corporations to swap the firm’s products and solutions owing to heightened east-west tensions.

The Federal Workplace for Info Security (BSI) yesterday argued that critical infrastructure suppliers and businesses “with particular security interests” have been notably uncovered.

“The actions of military services and/or intelligence forces in Russia and the threats designed by Russia against the EU, NATO and the Federal Republic of Germany in the system of the existing armed forces conflict are involved with a appreciable risk of a successful IT attack” it described.

“A Russian IT manufacturer can have out offensive operations itself, be compelled to attack target programs against its will, or be spied on with no its understanding as a target of a cyber operation, or be misused as a device for attacks towards its own shoppers.”

Having said that, in a strongly worded reply on the similar day, Kaspersky claimed that, as a personal corporation, it has no ties to the Russian governing administration and that the BSI’s selection was a political instead than a specialized a single.
