In a quarterly report submitted with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Mattel disclosed that the ransomware attack “caused data on a quantity of devices to be encrypted”.
“Promptly upon detection of the attack, Mattel started enacting its reaction protocols and getting a sequence of steps to prevent the attack and restore impacted devices. Mattel believes it has contained the attack and, though some organization functions were being quickly impacted, Mattel was ready to restore its critical operations,” the toy company stated in the legal document.
