NCSC Names Academic Centers of Excellence in Cybersecurity Education

Abertay University has been named amongst the 1st 8 UK universities to be awarded Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Instruction by the Countrywide Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

Abertay University is the 1st university in Scotland to receive the Tutorial Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Instruction Gold Award, along with Lancaster University, College of Southampton, University of South Wales, College of Surrey, University of the West of England and College of Warwick.

The announcement arrives as the location receives £11.7m of UK and Scottish Govt funding as a result of the Tay Towns Area Offer, which will unlock main investment in Dundee’s cyberQuarter venture which delivers a new investigation and development heart to Abertay’s campus in Dundee.

In granting Abertay Tutorial Centre of Excellence recognition, the NCSC recognized the plans for the Dundee cyberQuarter, which is built to appeal to current cybersecurity companies to Dundee, assistance the generation of new firms and boost the security and resilience of the Scottish enterprise group, as very well as the superior top quality of the University’s diploma courses.
