A Russian couple have been indicted for allegedly working 1 of the world’s major e-e book piracy websites.

Anton Napolsky, 33, and Valeriia Ermakova, 27, equally of St Petersburg, were being arrested on November 3 in Cordoba, Argentina at the request of the US authorities, in accordance to the Office of Justice (DoJ).

It’s claimed they ran Z-Library – the self-styled “world’s most significant library,” containing 11 million e-publications for download.

On the net since 2009, the web page available e-textbooks in several file formats stripped of copyright protections, in violation of US legislation. It also encouraged users to upload their personal titles.

In accordance to court paperwork, the Z-Library also operated a complicated network of 249 joined web domains, all of which have now been taken offline and seized by the US authorities.
