TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew has provided answers to concerns from nine Republican Senators who lately raised worries about TikTok’s privacy knowledge next a related BuzzFeed News investigation.

“We have not been requested for these information from the CCP. We have not delivered U.S. consumer information to the CCP, nor would we if asked,” reads the letter.

Moreover, Chew referred to as the BuzzFeed post “allegations and insinuations” incorrect and not supported by points. 

“We value the chance to set the file straight by answering your inquiries.”

For context, the BuzzFeed investigation claims to have listened to leaked audio of extra than 80 interior TikTok conferences, some of which openly discussed ‘Project Texas,’ a categorised initiative developed to stop engineers in China from retrieving the information.
