UK Metal Engineering Firm Vesuvius Hit by Cyber-Attack

Vesuvius, a UK-centered molten metallic stream engineering business issued an inform on February 6, 2023, which stated it was “currently running a cyber incident, [which] has concerned unauthorized entry to our units.”

The London Stock Exchange-stated ceramics manufacturer did not give any information on the mother nature and scope of the incident, the methods impacted, or the identity of the attacker.

“Immediately upon getting aware of unauthorized exercise on our networks, we have taken the important steps to look into and reply to the incident, which includes shutting down impacted methods. Shares in Vesuvius fell 3.8% in early trading on February 6, security analyst Graham Cluley described.

This incident is the latest of a sequence of cyber-attacks targeting UK businesses, with Royal Mail strike in January and Ion, a investing program provider, in early February.
