The US and United kingdom governments have both issues sanctions in reaction to latest cyber-attacks.

Yesterday, the Section of the Treasury’s Business of Foreign Belongings Manage (OFAC) introduced that five Iranian entities have been “designated” for trying to impact elections in the United States. The OFAC explained the Iranian routine “has qualified the United States’ electoral approach with brazen tries to sow discord between the voting populace by spreading disinformation online and executing malign affect operations aimed at deceptive US voters.”

This concerned parts of the govt of Iran, such as the Islamic Innovative Guard Corps (IRGC), the IRGC-Qods Pressure (IRGC-QF) and Bayan Rasaneh Gostar Institute (Bayan Gostar), disguising itself as information businesses or media shops in purchase to subvert US democratic processes. Also, the Iranian Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) and International Union of Virtual Media (IUVM) have been designated as being owned or managed by the IRGC-QF.
