“First endorsed by critical CEOs in the oil and gasoline price chain, the Cyber Resilience Pledge is a landmark stage as it signals recognition of the complexities of setting up a cyber-resilient marketplace ecosystem and a determination to collective action to reach it,” explained Alexander Klimburg, head, centre for cybersecurity, WEF.

The providers getting the pledge involve Aker ASA, Aker BP, Aramco, Check Level Program Technologies, Claroty, Cognite, Dragos, Ecopetrol, Eni, EnQuest, Galp, International Resilience Federation, Maire Tecnimont, Occidental Petroleum, OT-ISAC, Petronas, Repsol and Suncor.

The WEF highlighted cyber-attacks versus the Colonial Pipeline in the United States in May possibly 2021 and against European refining hubs in February 2022, leading to considerable penalties for business functions. These incidents drove home the critical value of cyber-resilience.
