The Internet Modern society, a world non-revenue business dedicated to ensuring the open up enhancement, evolution and use of the internet and AFRINIC, the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for the African area, have today announced the start of a new collaborative effort aimed at improving upon internet resilience in Africa.

Africa Internet Measurements, a key ingredient of the Internet Society’s Measuring the Internet challenge, formalizes a longstanding romantic relationship involving the Internet Culture and AFRINIC. It will travel the enhancement of the internet in Africa by means of assignments and investigation relevant to internet measurements and resilience, routing security, open up internet requirements and internet exchange points.

Above the final decade, Africa has built big strides in the enhancement of its internet usage. However, advancements are still necessary in the resilience and the trustworthiness of Africa’s internet infrastructure to fulfill the same internet benchmarks of the relaxation of the environment.

“Our interests have normally been aligned very well with AFRINIC’s and we are psyched to perform with the group to build a greater and more robust internet across Africa,” stated Dawit Bekele, regional vice-president – Africa, the Internet Culture.
