Bank of Eire has been fined €463,000 by the Details Defense Fee (DPC) for a selection of knowledge breaches from November 2018 to June 2019 impacting consumer private data.

The financial institution was fined for the breaches and the delays in communicating with influenced prospects.

The DPC mentioned that 19 of the noted incidents constitute breaches below the Common Knowledge Security Regulation (GDPR).

In addition to the €463,000 in fines, the DPC issued Bank of Eire a reprimand and has ordered it to deliver its processing into compliance with info security rules.

A financial institution statement stated: “Bank of Ireland entirely acknowledges, and sincerely apologises for, these breaches. The Bank usually takes its regulatory and compliance obligations really severely and regrets that it has fallen small in this way.”
